procurement professionals, and key buyers.

government's policy lead on Medical Technology, spearheading the implementation
of the Government's first-ever Medical Technology Strategy, unveiled in
February of the previous year. His portfolio of key initiatives showcases a
commitment to innovation and efficiency in healthcare procurement and
technology. These initiatives include the Design for Life programme, which
champions a circular economy, and the Value Based Procurement Methodology for
MedTech procurement, ensuring value for money and patient-centered outcomes are
at the heart of procurement decisions.
David's career is distinguished not only by his current role
but also by his previous 21 years as Chief Procurement Officer at Guy's and St
Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, where he was a double recipient of the Supply
Chain Excellence Award in 2008 and 2021. His extensive experience and accolades
underscore his qualifications to chair the Procurement Conference at this
year's EBME Expo.
The conference aims to bridge the gap between NHS supply
chain staff, procurement professionals, and key buyers, creating a platform for
dialogue, learning, and networking. With the success of last year's event, the
2024 Procurement Conference is poised to further cement its place as a
must-attend event for professionals in the field, driving forward the
conversation on procurement excellence in the healthcare sector.
Attendees can look forward to a dynamic agenda under David's
leadership, focusing on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in
medical technology procurement. The event will serve as a catalyst for
fostering partnerships and formulating strategies that align with the evolving
